Pledge Trainers

dward_profileName: Dward Gacayan

Major: Business Administration (Corporate Finance)

Pledge Class: G-Ro!!!

Family: PAPER!!!!

Why did I join AphiO: I really liked the idea of doing community service and in exchange I would receive Greek Letters. Also, I did a lot of community service when I was in high school, and I enjoyed doing it as well.

Why this excomm position: I want to thoroughly engage with the incoming pledges and inculcate them the ways of our fraternity.

Favorite Hobby: Reading, traveling, football, playing the guitar, photography, a whole lotta stuff, to be honest.

Favorite Quote: Give everything and take nothing.

My thoughts and hopes for the future of AphiO: To create a bond that truly resonates what Aphio is all about: Leadership, Friendship and Service.

Which was my favorite service project: The world affairs challenge is by far my favorite service project.  I liked how so many motivated and driven kids are learning more about the world, and how to rectify the mistakes the modern man has made in the past.

What do I have to say to the incoming pledges: Please don’t think Rochelle and I are mean for making all of you learn information. It’s our job, so you guys can definitely tough it out.

If I could change the world, I would cease the mass genocide in Darfur. I would end the brutal blood diamond trade in Africa.  I would like to preserve everything that we have left in nature. I want to end world hunger.  Teach everyone the meaning of appreciating people’s differences, Create a world that isn’t driven by corporate greed but by compassion and love.

Any last words: 20 year-old Filipino American man grown up in a small town now experiencing what it’s like to live in a big city. Yeah, that’s about it I guess.

Why did you join APhiO? I joined Aphio because i was really interested in doing community service and expose myself to the community since i started college. I also wanted to meet new people and learn more about leadership and how to be a leader. I wanted to evolve into a better person.

Why this Excomm position? I wanted to be pledgetrainer this semester because i wanted to be part of teaching the pledge class and help the people who are going to be the future of APhiO understand more of what we all believe in and what we all stand for.

Favorite hobby? I LOVE reading. and shopping. and sleeping. hahah

Favorite quote? “Life is too short to not go out and experience anything.”

Your thoughts & hopes for the future of APhiO? I just hope that we all learn how to stand for LFS and that we can keep spreading the word and form bonds as best as we can.

Which was your favorite/memorable Service project? Macy’s Passport was my favorite and memorable service project because it was just so big and chic and extremely fun! Being able to watch a fashion runway show for free and being at big events was a great experience. Coordinating an event like that is something that i want to do so being able to surround myself with people who are in the business is great! :D

What do you have to say to the incoming pledges? Lets have fun this semester! GO GO GO!!!!

If I could change the world…“Everyone would eat rainbows and poop butterflies” – Horton Hears a Who….  :D hahaha ^_^

Any last words? Sorry this took so long.. hahahah
