Service VPs

About Alyssa Royce

This is my 4th semester at SF State and my 4th semester in APO (I pledged in Fall 2010). My major is Broadcast Electronic Communication Arts, studying video production/television. Video editing is my hobby-turned-career, although my other hobbies include taking pictures, watching/playing baseball, exploring SF, and driving. I joined APO because by my 3rd week of college, I was already bored and wanted something to do. I also found it to be a great way to make friends and discover new places and experiences in the city.

About Kristin Lam

Ello there! My name is Kristin Lam and I am ½ of the Service Vice President. This is my second time being Service Vice President in Fall 2011 alongside with my fantastic Co, Alyssa Royce. We (I) pledged in Fall 2010, the James L. Chandler Class. I was also ½ Administrative Vice President in Spring 2011. The reason I decided to join APO was mainly because I wanted to know more people; I guess in the beginning, I was a pretty shy person—but I like to talk a lot. Joining APO was something that changed my whole college experience. I am more out there and a part of something that I never really thought I would be. My goal with this position is to do my best to provide fun service projects to the fraternity. I mean, we all like to save the world at least once a while right? A little more about myself, I am currently a Health Education major and a minor in Counseling; I’m also a Senior (yes, I am old). Some of my hobbies are playing volleyball, window shopping and going out on spontaneous trips.

The Purpose of Service VP

As Service VP, it is our job to make sure we provide service projects and opportunities so everybody can do service hours. We keep track of your hours and mainly make sure the service program is fun and well-rounded. My co, Kristin, and I are also in charge of Multicultural AIDS Awareness Day, which is MZ's big annual event on campus.

Availability

Alyssa I am frequently busy (I have 3 jobs on top of classes and APO), but I am always at Monday night meetings. Feel free to text, call, or email me to set up appointments or to ask any question you might have. I love to sleep and chances are you will text/call me while I am sleeping -- don't worry, I'll never get mad, I just may respond to you without being consciously aware of it (yeah, it really happens). Kristin I usually work during the week, but it’s on campus and I am mostly free on Fridays. You can always find me a text/call/email away. I prefer appointments since I will be busy but if I am there (either Menchu or the 1st floor of the library) don’t hesitate to ask for something—I don’t [never] bite! :)
