Chapter of the Month: Mu Zeta

Mu Zeta Chapter at San Francisco State University hosted a Multi-Cultural AIDS Awareness Day on April 16, 2008. In collaboration with the university administration, community-based AIDS organizations and campus organizations, Mu Zeta was able to help students link the global HIV/AIDS issue to the SF State campus.

Activities at the event included a performance by AYO and Rockson Yan, free HIV testing, and a panel discussion by youth living with HIV.

Mu Zeta was later honored by the City and County of San Francisco for the chapters 12th year of grass-roots HIV/AIDS education efforts on the SF State campus, as well as being awarded the 2008 Outstanding Student Organization Award by the SF State Office of Student Programs and Leadership Development.

Forward to a Friend!

"Strange is our situation here upon earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to divine a purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know: that man is here for the sake of other men."

- Albert Einstein

Remembering Virginia Tech...

Remembering Virginia Tech…

On the one-year anniversary of the Virginia Tech Massacre, campuses across the nation paused to remember the lives lost and the lives damaged during a campus shooting that took the lives of 32 students and teachers.

Alpha Zeta Gamma co-organized a memorial LIE-IN on the College of New Jersey campus in order to pay tribute to the fallen and to a day that will remain engraved in the history books of college campuses nationwide.

In order to help busy seniors, stressed undergrads and new alumni find time to serve during the end of the semester and the begining of a busy summer, Theta Alpha Chapter at Stevens Institute of Technology put together this list of ways brothers can continue to serve, even when their plate is full.

Man-to-Man Recruiting Technique

Man-to-Man Recruiting Technique

Beta Zeta Chapter at the University of Georgia held a recruitment period at the beginning of the spring 2008 semester, but was only able to bring in three pledges. Frustrated with this outcome, Beta Zeta decided to step outside their usual recruiting techniques and get face-to-face with their peers to spread the word about Alpha Phi Omega and its mission.
